Garbage Collection Service

Weekly and on-call trash pickup for Orlando homes, run on fixed routes so your street gets collected on the same day every week.

What Our Garbage Collection Service Covers

Garbage collection is the recurring removal of household trash from a curb, alley, or bin location on a fixed schedule. Our Orlando routes run weekly, with on-call options for bulk items like furniture, appliances, and post-move cleanouts that fall outside a normal bin.

Modern municipal garbage collection in the United States grew out of public health reforms in the late 1800s, when cities began organizing regular removal to reduce disease linked to accumulated waste in streets and yards. Wikipedia's history of waste collection traces that shift in detail. Our own post on the history of sanitation services in America covers how those reforms eventually shaped the route-based service model we use today.

Residential Pickup: What to Expect

Each street on our route has a fixed collection day. Your bin goes out the evening before or early morning of your scheduled day, and the truck runs the street during its normal window. For standard residential service, that covers bagged household waste in a standard bin. Items that exceed the bin, such as furniture, mattresses, or large appliances, require a bulk pickup call in advance.

Recyclables and yard waste go out on separate designated days and in separate streams. Our guide on the Orlando trash and recycling pickup schedule explains how route days are assigned and what happens when you miss a collection day.

On-Call and Bulk Pickup

Not every situation fits the weekly bin cycle. Bulk pickups handle furniture, appliances, and large item haul-offs on a scheduled one-time basis. On-call service covers situations where you have accumulated more trash than your regular bin handles in one cycle, such as after a move, renovation, or extended absence.

For larger volumes or renovation debris, a roll-off container is usually more efficient than multiple on-call visits. For a breakdown of which container size fits which project, see our dumpster sizes guide.

Spring Cleaning and Seasonal Cleanouts

Spring cleanouts in Orlando generate a wider variety of material than a normal week of trash. Our guide on what you can and cannot throw away during a spring cleanout covers sorting, special disposal items like electronics and paint, and when a bulk pickup or container makes more sense than the regular bin.
